‘Slow Southern Steel’ is a documentary by Chris Terry and David Lepke that tells the story of heavy music in the American south. More specifically, the dirty, deep, sludge of the south. This is a commentary on the history of the south and how it has impacted the metal community.
Shot in back alleys, parking lots, and the seedy green rooms of the dirtiest clubs that the Bible Belt failed to snuff out, these diehard musicians discuss their love of music and the south, as well as the difficulties, contradictions, and insanity that haunt every southern artist. Featuring interviews from Hank III, Kylesa, Eyehategod, Torche, Dark Castle, Sourvein, Zoroaster, A Hanging, Haarp, Hawg Jaw, Black Skies, Ketea, Parasytic, Beaten Back to Pure, ASG, The Roller, Dixie Witch, Weedeater, Royal Thunder and many many more. It made its debut in 2010 and has been shown in US cinemas. Now it is available for full streaming.
Narrated by the notorious Dixie Dave Collins (Weedeater, Buzzov-en, Bongzilla), ‘Slow Southern Steel’ is an honest and thorough look at southern metal. Enjoy!
